Dr. Jim Palmer, PT, DPT, CMP, COMT

Jim Palmer’s introduction to physical therapy began after a low back injury in 1999, where he gained a new perspective and an appreciation for the amazing resilience of the human body. Moreover, he observed the importance of physical therapy in not just treating the immediate injury, but also in the prevention of future injuries. This was especially relevant to him because as a runner since the eighth grade, he’s also experienced sport-related injuries. In 2004, Jim received his Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Central Florida, and in 2013 his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Montana. Additionally, he has earned specialized certifications in The Mulligan Concept, trigger point dry needling, and Orthopedic Manual Therapy. This additional training has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of manual therapy, which ranges from myofascial trigger points to joint repositioning techniques. He believes that prescribing a multifaceted approach (hands-on techniques, progressive exercise, and education) will assist in faster and more complete recovery from injuries. Jim is passionate about developing personal relationships with his clients to better understand their pain points and concerns. Together, we can create a personalized rehab and fitness program to meet your individual goals.

After working for standard physical therapy companies for many years, Jim became very frustrated with the lack of personalized care, high patient visit quotas, and insurance companies dictating patient care limits. When he and his wife relocated to New York City, he grasped the opportunity to launch Palmer Concierge Physical Therapy in January 2019. His mission became to provide unique, personalized physical therapy and fitness to busy, active New Yorkers in the privacy and convenience of their home, place of work, or hotel. Palmer Concierge Physical Therapy has grown from him to a small team of dedicated professionals who care for busy professionals, parents, children, grandparents, high school and semi-professional athletes, expecting and postpartum mothers. Jim is grateful to his family, physical therapy team, referring partners, and clients for the ability to care for so many wonderful people.

Dr. Sean Joyce, PT, DPT

Sean Joyce is a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Denver, CO. He completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY, in 2017 and has been helping New Yorkers feel, move, and perform better ever since. As a highly competitive athlete in lacrosse, ice hockey, and golf, he has suffered and recovered from his fair share of injuries which is what introduced him to the field of Physical Therapy. He has undergone extensive training with the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) to learn how to best help golfers play pain-free and maximize their potential. Additionally, he has trained with the Postural Restoration Institute, helping him to recognize and restore postural abnormalities and compensation patterns that result in pain and injury. Sean has developed a treatment methodology, including manual therapy and corrective exercise designed to restore proper joint and muscle function to help maximize strength and resilience thereafter.

When Sean isn’t working, he may be found outdoors or traveling. Sean is also an avid golfer who never misses an opportunity to get out for a round of golf. Had a broken back and Jim and Matt came to give me Physical Therapy. I went from bed to wheelchair, walker, cane to walking up and downstairs in record time and have never looked back. Class act, highly recommend.

Dan Crotty

I was essentially unable to walk even relatively short distances before working with Palmer Concierge Physical Therapy. Thanks to team though I’m now on my way to making a full recovery. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without them.
